【标题】Pumps in Agricultural Irrigation & How Peristaltic Pumps Work

【摘要】 Q Is groundwater the primary source of irrigation? A recent study supported by the Hydraulic Institute revealed there are over 600,000 pumps used for agricultural irrigation in the United States. Of this, 76% are used for lifting groundwater from wells, 17% pull surface water and 7% are used for boosting water within the irrigation systems. Groundwater pumps could be installed at the surface if the water table is near the surface, but when the water surface is deeper, vertically suspended pumps are used where the pumping element is submerged in the well and the groundwater is pumped to the surface via a column pipe. The study also looked at the potential energy- and carbon-savings potential in these agricultural irrigation systems. Opportunities identified in the study included the potential electrification of fossil fuel driven pumps, replacing old and worn-out pumps and converting old pipes and open canals to closed plastic pipes. The potential savings included $2.8 billion in energy costs and reduced carbon emissions of 9.9 million tons.

A 5-axis milled backward leaning blade has optimized aero-matching through the flow path. On the control side is the sLOC Control Panel, providing control, monitoring, and protection.

【摘要】 Inspired by a Thermos, this aluminum cooler has a vacuum-sealed insulation system that allows it to stay cold without the need to pack it full of ice cubes. Plus, you don't need to pre-chill the cooler before heading to the beach-the aluminum transfers heat rapidly. It comes with two slim ice packs that help keep things frosty, but if you fill it with cold beverages, they'll remain plenty chilly for a day's outing. To test the cooler, we loaded in the ice packs and 35 cans of seltzer that had been cooled to 34.8 degrees in a refrigerator. The temperature inside the cooler remained under 34 degrees for more than 24 hours, when we removed the ice packs. After 46 hours, the temperature was still holding at just 43 degrees, which is cold enough for a seltzer or a Bell's Oberon.

【摘要】 The wear is a very common phenomenon during the meshing of the gears. The development and progression of the wear in gears may create catastrophic failures. In this study, the progression of wear condition in the gear has been predicted with on-line wear debris monitoring from lubricating oil together with visual inspections. The experimental set up has been designed and the experiments were conducted with spur gears under varying load condition. The effect of different load conditions on the progression of wear condition in the gear has been presented. The results demonstrate that the concentration and weight of particles in lubrication oil, and the measured area of wear exist on gear surface during wear progression correlate well with the severity of wear condition of gear acquired from the visual inspection.
