【摘要】 Volkswagen announced recently that its three-year-old Innovation Hub in Knoxville, Tenn., is making major gains in lightweighting, EV wireless charging and sustainable interior materials. Volkswagen's Innovation Hub specializes in applied materials science and frequently collaborates with neighbors the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Lab. "We are accelerating innovation with electric vehicles and contributing more to sustainable transportation in America by focusing our efforts on some of the most transformative automotive research being done in the country," said Pablo Di SI, president and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, in a release. He said that the research partnerships are a "unique blend of world-class academic research and Volkswagen's leading industry capabilities."

【摘要】 Glass, carbon and aramid fibers pose new challenges for a wide range of industries worldwide. Tyrolit now presents the comprehensive Tyrolit Power range for efficient machining. The leading Austrian company presented its innovative tools for cutting, grinding, drilling, milling and surface finishing of the most demanding workpieces made of composite materials for the first time at JEC World 2023 in Paris, the global trade fair for composite materials and their applications. Low weight, durability and freedom of design are properties of materials that are normally mutually exclusive-which is not the case in the composite industry. The innovative materials are able to withstand high pressure and at the same time support the trend towards lightweight construction. These complex materials present numerous industries with new challenges in production. Tyrolit is the partner for solving new types of problems and designing innovative production processes together with their partners.

【摘要】 Grinding plays an important role in ensuring the final machining quality in the manufacturing process of composite parts. Problems such as grinding damage, grinding wheel wear and loading undermine the grinding efficiency and quality. This review presents relevant research progress in the field of composites grinding in recent years from the aspects of material removal mechanisms, surface integrity, and advanced grinding technologies. It further discusses the common problems of composites grinding and summarizes grinding process strategies to suppress damage. It can provide an in-depth understanding of the fundamental mechanisms involved in composites grinding and solutions to the composites grinding problems.
